ecovista leads turnkey LED display installation in West London’s Livat Centre

Background overview

Located on the bustling King Street in Hammersmith, West London, Livat is a dynamic urban shopping destination owned by Ingka Centres, part of IKEA’s global real estate network.

Home to household names like IKEA, EE, JD Sports, Metro Bank and Specsavers, the centre sees a constant stream of shoppers, commuters and local residents. Prominently positioned on the building’s main façade, the large-format digital screen offers advertisers a high-impact canvas in one of London’s busiest and most well-connected areas.

Clients challenge

The existing LED display had reached the end of its operational life, prompting Ingka to seek a trusted partner capable of managing the full upgrade – from removal and replacement to integration and servicing.

With multiple stakeholders involved – including media owner Open Media, LED manufacturer Absen and the Livat operations team – the project demanded tight coordination, precision planning and clear communication throughout.

EcoVista was appointed as principal contractor, tasked with delivering a full turnkey solution.

Our solution

As lead contractor, EcoVista managed every stage of the project: from decommissioning the existing screen and overseeing logistics, to procuring equipment, coordinating design, installation and long-term servicing.

The selected product, Absen’s A1021 from the A-Series range, is a high-performance 10mm pixel pitch LED display tailored for outdoor applications such as roadside and retail signage. With a brightness of 10,000 nits, it ensures sharp, vibrant visuals – even in direct sunlight.

Measuring approximately 9 x 3 metres, the new screen was retrofitted into the existing aperture. The previous display was also an Absen product, which meant the new system offered a near-perfect structural match, streamlining installation and easing future maintenance.

Installation was carried out out-of-hours to avoid disruption to centre operations, working in close collaboration with Livat’s management team. The timeline was tight, with the display needing to go live ahead of specific in-charge dates for scheduled advertising campaigns.

EcoVista also had to navigate strict weight restrictions on the pavement structure below. The team used specialised access equipment and adhered to strict load protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant install.

Another critical component was the integration with Open Media’s existing CMS. EcoVista worked directly with the media operator to ensure seamless connectivity, allowing the screen to go live without a hitch.

The
result

The project was completed on time and on budget, with zero disruption to campaign schedules. The upgraded LED screen now serves as a striking digital landmark in West London – offering brands an unmissable opportunity to reach a broad and diverse urban audience.
